The Missions and Service Committee

1 Peter 4:10 - "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."

This committee is made up of 3 members as well as one Deacon representative and a Women's coordinator.

The Missions and Service committee endeavours to respond to needs that arise internationally , nationally and locally. Such projects include, Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Disaster Service, a partnership with a Mennonite Church in Bolivia, Toronto Life Centre, Welcome Inn in Hamilton, Caribbean Offshore Workers, Niagara Life Centre and Upper Deck - a local Teen Outreach. At Christmas time we support Community Care of West Niagara and Niagara Life Centre with donations towards Christmas Hampers as well as MCC Giving Projects, where you can give the gift of food, livestock, water, education, etc. to world communities. Other support has included our participation in the Hannah House Baby Bottle Campaign, donations of back-packs to Welcome Inn as well as food drives for organizations in need.

This committee is also involved in a number of community events. The Fall Kick-Off is a well-attended event that includes fun activities for the kids, a community BBQ and other entertainment. The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is another community highlight where, it is said, we "serve the best pancakes with fruit toppings in Lincoln!" A new event that we are involved in is the LOVE LINCOLN initiative of serving the community with "no strings attached".

The Missions and Service Committee is a very busy but very rewarding committee to be a part of.
